Conconully Main Street :)Conconully, WA will always be my favorite vacation spot as I have so many special memories from there. My Uncle Wayne Dow (husband to Mary Margaret, who was my dad's sister) was the Superintendent of the Conconully Stake Park for numerous years.
I was 14 when my dad retired from the Air Force. We went to live in Conconully that summer while my dad made a final decision as to where we wanted to live. We lived in the big house across the street from the park which later became the home of Bud and Carolyn McCauley.
My grandparents, Bud and Lillian Leonard, and my cousin, Michael Collette (Denise's son) lived with us in that house for part of that summer. One thing I can remember that Michael and I did was go down to the lake and catch pollywogs that we kept in a great big jar.
That summer was one of the most special summers I ever had.
Pictures: I always visited this little cabin on the park grounds whenever we visited Conconully. The Gibson Store that has been in Conconully forevery. I always thought the Conconully PO was so cute!
