When I was doing my student teaching at Emerson Elementary and then Uintah Elementary in Salt Lake, I lived quite close to Nanny and Gramps (Gerald Ray--Bud--and Lillian Leonard) so I visited them lots! Every time I went to see them, the first thing Gramps would say to me--no matter what time of day-- was, "Are you hungry?" I finally learned to go to their home hungry, especially at breakfast time and would share with them cornflakes and bananas or fried eggs, bacon, and toast. Breakfast always tasted best at their home.
